Delivery & Shipping Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Delivery Areas

We deliver to all addresses in the Netherlands, including the Wadden Islands, as well as to Belgium and Germany.

For deliveries to the Wadden Islands, additional ferry/transport costs will be charged. We deliver to the island carrier, who then completes the delivery to your address; the carrier's additional fees are at your expense .

2. Delivery Timeframes

Standard stock items:

Delivery typically takes 1–4 weeks from order confirmation. An estimated delivery time is shown on each product page .
Made-to-order / custom furniture:

Delivery times may be longer and will be communicated to you at the time of order.
Small accessories:

Smaller items may be shipped via parcel service and typically arrive within 2 business days .
Important: Under Dutch and EU law, we must deliver your products within 30 days of your order, unless a longer delivery period has been explicitly agreed upon with you at the time of purchase .

3. How Delivery Works

For furniture items:

Once your order is ready for dispatch, our expedition department will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment . You do not need to call us.
On the morning of the delivery day (between 7:00–8:00 AM), you will receive a time window for your delivery .
Our delivery team will bring the furniture into the room you specify.
We will remove all packaging materials and take them back for recycling .
For smaller accessories:

Items are shipped via parcel service (e.g., DHL, PostNL) and delivered to your designated address.
4. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure a smooth delivery, please ensure:

Accessibility: The delivery address must have a paved, accessible driveway for the delivery truck . For apartment buildings, ensure the entrance, hallway, stairs, and lift (if available) are clear and wide enough for our furniture .
Clear path: The route from the delivery vehicle to the room of installation must be clear and unobstructed .
Correct address: Double-check that the delivery address, including apartment/floor number, is correct when placing your order .
Someone present: There must be someone at the delivery address during the agreed time window. If no one is present, a second delivery attempt will incur additional costs .
Passing through doorways:

You are responsible for ensuring that the furniture you order will fit through doorways, stairwells, and lifts at your delivery address .
If the furniture does not fit and a crane or hoist is required, you must arrange and pay for this yourself. If such equipment is needed but not arranged in advance, delivery will be made to ground floor only .
Multiple floors (apartment buildings):

Standard delivery by stairs is limited to the 4th floor (begane grond counted as 0). For 5th floor and above, a lift is required .
If a lift is required but not available, you must arrange an external hoist (available through IKEA for €149 in some cases, or via independent providers) .
5. Delivery Costs

Standard delivery: Delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on your order value, item size, and delivery address.
Island deliveries (Waddeneilanden): Additional ferry/toll costs apply and will be charged to you .
Second delivery attempt: If no one is present at the agreed delivery time, or if you cancel less than 48 hours before the scheduled delivery, a second delivery will incur additional costs .
Hoist/crane fees: If a hoist or external lift is required and not arranged by you in advance, any additional costs will be charged to you .
6. Inspection Upon Delivery

This is important!

Upon delivery, please inspect your furniture immediately while the delivery team is still present .

Unpack and check each item for visible damage, scratches, or defects.
Do not sign the delivery receipt (acceptance of delivery) if you have not had the chance to inspect the items, or write a reservation (e.g., "onder voorbehoud") on the form .
Once you sign for delivery without noting any damage, it is assumed that the items were delivered in perfect condition .
Under CBW (Centrale Branchevereniging Wonen) terms (standard for furniture retailers in the Netherlands), any damage to your property caused during delivery must be reported in writing within 14 days of delivery. Claims made after this period may not be accepted .

7. Risk of Loss

For purchases: The risk of loss or damage to the items passes to you upon delivery at your address .
For rentals: The items remain our property, and risk passes to you upon delivery (rental agreements will specify this in the rental terms).
8. What If Something Goes Wrong?

Items arrive damaged:

If you discover damage upon delivery and note it on the delivery receipt, contact us immediately. We will arrange for a replacement or repair at no cost to you .
Items do not fit:

If the furniture cannot be delivered because it does not fit through your doorways or stairwell, and you have not arranged alternative access, a second delivery attempt may be required. Additional costs apply .
Late delivery:

We will do our best to meet all delivery timeframes. If we are unable to deliver within 30 days without an agreed longer lead time, you have the right to cancel your order and receive a full refund .
